Review – Space Buddies Movie

Space Buddies is the third film featuring Disney’s irresistible talking puppies, all an indirect offshoot of the original 1997 Air Bud, featuring a Golden Retriever named Buddy who could play basketball.

Space Buddies follows the five puppies, Rosebud, Buddha, Mudbud and B-Dawg – each of whom have distinct personalities as, following series of unfortunate occurrences, they end up abroad and experimental spaceship on the day of a test launch.

Moving at warp speed, dodging asteroids and more, the Buddies and their new friends, Spudnick (voiced by Jason Earles – Hannah Montana), and Gravity, must summon their courage and ingenuity to launch plans for moon landing and a rocketing trip back home. Will they have the right stuff?

Young children are always enchanted by talking animals, so, irrespective of whether they have previously enjoyed Air Buddies, or Snow Buddies, this will be a welcome addition to the DVD library. Available now from Carihome DVD. Extras include Behind the Scenes, Buddy Bloopers, Dancing in the Moonlight Music Video – Alyson Stoner, and the featurette, Disneypedia: The Buddies Guide to Space Travel.
