Monsters vs. Aliens Movie Overview
Just released today, Monsters vs. Aliens is a computer-animated 3-D feature film from DreamWorks Animation and Paramount Pictures. It is the first computer animated movie to be directly produced in a stereoscopic 3-D format (i.e. instead of converting the film into 3-D after completion).
So what’s it all about? California girl Susan Murphy (Reese Witherspoon) is unwittingly clobbered by a meteor full of outer space gunk on her wedding day. She mysteriously grows to 49 feet 11 inches tall. The military gets into action, and Susan is captured and taken away to a covert government compound. There, she is renamed Ginormica and placed in confinement with a ragtag group of monsters including: the brilliant but insect-headed Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D.; the macho half-ape, half-fish The Missing Link; the gelatinous and indestructibleB.O.B.; and the 350-foot grub called Insectosaurus.
Their confinement is cut short however, as a mysterious alien robot lands on Earth and begins storming the country. In a moment of desperation, the President is persuaded to enlist the crew of Monsters to fight the Alien Robot and save the world from imminent destruction.
If you like animated movies, this is one to watch.
